Nashville, TN – Time flies when you’re having fun, or fighting, and UFC light heavyweight Kennedy Nzechukwu will take part in his 10th fight in the promotion when he faces Dustin Jacoby at UFC Nashville on Saturday night.
“It’s amazing how things have turned out. I’m just blessed. It feels like they move so fast,” Nzechukwu told reporters on Wednesday.
“I’m just enjoying the moment. Trying to live in the present.”
In Nashville he takes on Jacoby who is on a two-fight losing streak, and looking to right the ship against Nzechukwu.
“He’s a tough guy. He’s a striker, very durable guy, hasn’t been finished. He’s fought some tough guys so I feel like it’s going to be a good win under my belt. I’m just ready for a tough fight,” he said.
“Three rounds. Hardcore three rounds and I’m ready to get the victory.”
A win over Jacoby could see Nzechukwu enter the rankings in a volatile light heavyweight division. The man on a three-fight win streak, however, doesn’t care much for rankings at the moment.
“I’m just taking it one fight at a time. I’m not really focused on the rankings. I just want to enjoy the moment,” Nzechukwu said.
“The rankings don’t really bother me. I just want to take one fight at a time. Slowly make my way to the top.”
