Nashville, TN – UFC strawweight Jessica Andrade is game for any opponent it seems, but she’s been waiting for a chance to take on Tatiana Suarez, and she gets her shot at UFC Nashville on Saturday night.
“This is a fight that I’ve wanted to take for quite some time as an opponent that always interested me. This fight actually came about a month and what 20 days when it was found out that we realized that Virna (Jandiroba) wasn’t going to be available,” Andrade told reporters through a translator on Wednesday.
Jandiroba was scheduled to fight Suarez, but pulled out due to injury. Andrade was aware of the original matchup and joked that the fight was taken from her.
“But come on dude you’re taking away my opportunity to fight her I wish it was me. As it turns out it did happen. Feeling great about it. Just the fact that this is an opportunity that I couldn’t just bypass. You can’t pass this up to go back in the division, get back in the win column. Yes a tough opponent, but someone that I thought about this fight before,” she said.
“I wanted to face her as an opponent and why not take the opportunity and fight?”
