A champ versus champ fight will headline UAE Warriors 43: Arabia next month.
That welterweight main event will see Badreddine Diani (6-2), the current UAE Warriors Arabia 170lb champ, take on UAE Warriors Africa welterweight champion Wisem Hammami (7-1). The event takes place on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Both fighters qualify for both the Arabia and Africa series hosted by UAE Warriors, and both titles will be on the line in the fight. The bout is a rematch of the pair’s March 2022 showdown.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed the booking to Cageside Press on Tuesday.
Morocco’s Diani will be looking for a little bit of revenge in the fight. He was stopped in the second round in the pair’s original meeting, but has gone on to win his last two outings. Most recently, Diani defeated Abdulla Al Bousheiri in a closely contested split decision in March to claim the UAE Warriors Arabia title.
Wisem Hammami, of Italy, has not been in action for over a year. His last action saw him suffer a head kick KO loss at the hands of Brian Hooi, in a non-title affair. Hammami won the UAEW Africa title in his first fight with Diani.
In addition to the August 25 event at the Etihad Arena, UAE Warriors 44 will take place at the same venue the following night. Both cards will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.
