The two welterweights clinched up in the center of the octagon to start the fight — and to end it, as Lawler struck Price with two thunderous left hooks before landing one final uppercut that sent his opponent crashing to the canvas. Robbie Lawler stood over his opponent one last time following a sensational knockout victory to cap off a legendary mixed-martial arts career.
The UFC played a video tribute filled with Robbie Lawler’s career highlights following the win.
“Just happened to land some big bombs… Thank you for all the support,” Lawler said. But glimpses of emotion betrayed his notoriously cool exterior.
Robbie Lawler retired after the bout, finishing with a 30-16 professional record and massive contributions to the sport and the UFC over the course of three decades.
