Las Vegas, NV – UFC debutant middleweight Nursulton Ruziboev has made his way to the promotion and draws Brunno Ferreira in his first fight at UFC Vegas 76 on Saturday night.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time. I’m ready for this fight. I cannot wait to show myself on Saturday,” Ruziboev told reporters through two translators on Wednesday.
The odd part about Ruziboev is that at 29-years-old he has had over 40 professional fights and is just now getting into the UFC.
“There were moments like that where I thought well maybe this will never happen. I thought ‘Well maybe it will, maybe it won’t’. I knew that if I kept moving forward I will make sure to get what I’m worth,” he said.
Throughout his career Ruziboev has fought a lot every year sometimes up to 10-12 times per year. That’s not something that happens in the UFC.
“If I get this win I will ask for a fight right away. I want to fight actively. I want to fight a lot. I want to fight often. We’ll see what happens, and if I win I will ask for the fight immediately,” he said.
Not only is Ruziboev going right to the UFC, bypassing Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter, but he is fighting on the main card in his first UFC bout.
“I’m surprised that I was put on a main card right away. It’s a great surprise for myself,” he said.
“But I have to make sure that I show that I’m worthy of the main card. I’ll show a good fight, and people will know me after this Saturday.”
