Las Vegas, NV – Coming off a spectacular knockout in his last fight UFC lightweight Ismael Bonfim gets another fun matchup in the form of Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Vegas 76 on Saturday night.
“I see a good fight. I see a tough fight. He’s a strong fighter, but I do see a lot of loopholes there and opportunities for me. You can expect this to be a knockout perhaps. Even submitting him,” Bonfim told reporters through a translator on Wednesday.
With the highlight finish of Terrance McKinney in his last fight fans are hoping, maybe even expecting, another exciting finish from Bonfim this Saturday night.
“There’s bit of pressure because when people see that they expect you to do that and better. The pressure’s on myself to go back there inside and just do it even better,” he said.
A win over McKinney was big, but a win over Saint-Denis would stack on top of that as proof that Bonfim may be ready for the next level of opponent. Bonfim already had names in mind.
“I think that with a good performance on Saturday, having another victory like that, I could be facing a ranked fighter. Someone that’s like very close to the rankings and I do think I deserve a fight like that,” Bonfim said.
“Matt Frevola. Perhaps Drew Dober. Those guys.”
