The UFC is in Charlotte, North Carolina for UFC on ABC 4 this Saturday, and on Friday, all fighters hit the scale ahead of the UFC Charlotte card.
Well, almost all fighters. Two athletes did not make it to the scale, with the lightweight affair between Natan Levy and Pete Rodriguez cancelled before either had weighed in. Per promotion officials, weight management issues on the part of Rodriguez were to blame.
That’s the second straight time that particular fight has fallen through. Just two weeks ago, the fight was scuttled after Rodriguez fell ill.
Missing weight on Friday was Bryan Battle, who came in two pounds heavy for his welterweight bout. Daniel Rodriguez initially weighed in 0.5lbs over the welterweight limit for a scrap with Ian Garry on the main card — but afforded an extra hour, “D-Rod” not only made weight, but hit championship weight.
