Nathaniel Wood will once again compete in London, with a banger of a featherweight match-up lined up for July.
Wood (19-5) will face Andre Fili (22-9, 1NC) at UFC London on July 22, 2023. The event once again sees the promotion return to the O2 Arena in London, England, with Tom Aspinall back in action in the main event.
News of the booking was first reported by journalist Al Zullino.
Wood competed twice in 2022, picking up a pair of wins against Charles Rosa and Charles Jourdain, the latter at UFC Paris in September. Those two bouts marked Wood’s first as a featherweight, leaving him in good standing in the weight class after spending years as a bantamweight.
Fili returned to the win column in his last fight, earning a split decision victory over Bill Algeo.
July 22’s UFC London card is the second trip to the British capital this year for the promotion, following UFC 286 in March, which saw Leon Edwards defend his welterweight title against Kamaru Usman. The upcoming Fight Night is headlined by Tom Aspinall, returning from knee surgery to face Marcin Tybura.
