Newark, NJ – After an up and down start to his UFC stint welterweight Khaos Williams may have finally turned the corner after securing a victory at UFC 288 on Saturday night.
“Any victory is pretty much a positive point so I feel like definitely (this is a turning point), but I’ve just got to get back on that win streak and just keep doing what I’ve been doing,” Williams told Cageside Press among other outlets at his post-fight scrum.
“Do what I know I’m capable of doing. I believe in myself. I believe in my talent and I’ve just got to keep getting better, just keep evolving and just keep showing what I can do.”
Williams (14-3) earned a split-decision victory over a tough Rolando Bedoya who may have surprised ‘The Ox Fighter’ a bit on Saturday night. The fight was so close the judges rendered a split-decision victory for Williams, but it could have gone either way.
“I was pretty confident man, but you just never know unless you get the job done. Just never know,” he said.
“I never sleep on nobody when it comes to a fight. It’s a fight man, everybody got a puncher’s chance. I never bring a pillow to the fight, I’m always ready for whoever. He was a little tougher than I thought he was going to be though.”
Now with his 14th professional victory secured it’s time to look ahead at what’s next.
“It’s whoever they throw in front of me. It’s always going to be a good fight, and I’m always going to do what I do and put on for the fans,” said Williams.
“Like I said, it’s must-see TV, and I’m here to put on man.”
