The main event of Invicta FC 53, and the rest of the seven-fight card, is official.
On Tuesday, all fighters hit the scales for the official weigh-in ahead of the event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at ReelWorks Denver in Denver, Colorado. Topping the card, atomweight champion Jillian DeCoursey, who was looking to defend her title against Brazil’s Rayanne dos Santos.
DeCoursey, 38, had a fantastic 2022, knocking out Lindsey VanZandt in just 61 seconds to earn a title shot, then capturing the Invicta FC 105lb championship by submitting Jessica Delboni inside of a round.
Rayanne dos Santos had gone 3-1 in 2022, with the lone loss unfortunately coming on Dana White’s Contender Series. Still, the Brazilian closed out the year with back-to-back wins, including her Invicta FC debut against Katie Saull, which had landed her this title shot.
The aforementioned Delboni also features on Wednesday’s card, against UFC vet Danielle Taylor. Former Bellator MMA title challenger Olga Rubin, meanwhile, is booked in a bantamweight scrap with Claire Guthrie.
Invicta FC 53 goes down live on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 airing on AXS TV, Fight Network, and via the promotion’s official Youtube channel. Full results from Tuesday’s weigh-in can be found below.
