The previously booked lightweight scrap between Dan Hooker and Jalin Turner is back on again, this time for UFC 290.
Hooker (22-12) and Turner (13-6) were originally supposed to face off at UFC 285 on March 4 in Las Vegas, but a Hooker injury forced him out of the fight. Hooker was swapped out for Mateusz Gamrot, who picked up a split decision victory.
Despite Turner now coming off a loss, the UFC has opted to re-book the pairing for July 8, 2023’s UFC 290, which will cap off this year’s International Fight Week.
The bout was one of many recently announced by UFC President Dana White in a pair of videos posted to social media.
Hooker will enter the fight off a win over Claudio Puelles that saw him snap a two-fight skid.
Prior to the loss to Gamrot, Jalin Turner had compiled a five-fight win streak in the lightweight division, including wins over Jamie Mullarkey and Brad “Quake” Riddell.
UFC 290 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV currently boasts the following reported match-ups:
