Kevin Holland withstood a slew of leg kicks from Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 287, knocking him out in the final round.
Two of the UFC’s most popular welterweights faced off at UFC 287, as “Argentine Daggar” Santiago Ponzinibbio took on Kevin Holland in Miami on Saturday night.
Holland looked to snap a two-fight skid with a victory, while Ponzinibbio entered the bout coming off an explosive knockout win over Alex Morono in December.
Following a short-lived feeling-out process, the two welterweights began to pop off, Ponzinibbio pressing forward while landing a multitude of leg kicks, and Holland piecing together combinations before dropping his opponent in the waning seconds of the first frame.
Holland took complete control of the fight in the latter rounds, leading up to a picture-perfect left hook that separated Ponzinibbio from consciousness and effectively ended the bout.

In celebration, Holland climbed over the cage and told former President Donald Trump that he won with a broken right hand.
“Big Mouth” called out Miami’s own Jorge Masvidal following the win, explaining that he believes Gilbert Burns will run through the former title contender.
“There’s no badder MF’er than me. See you soon Jorge,” Holland said in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Holland will likely find his name in the welterweight rankings following a sensational knockout victory over a tough opponent, while UFC veteran Santiago Ponzinibbio will look to improve his skills after coming up short tonight.
