Lucas Brennan has fought all over the country, though there is only one place that he hopes to never return to: Connecticut.
“F*** Connecticut bro, I hate that state so much, and I’m doubling down on it,” Brennan said during Bellator 293 Media Day. “I think the UK blew a 13-1 lead and they should’ve kept Connecticut. I hate that place so much, I’m so over fighting there. I’m so happy to be somewhere else.”
Fortunately for Brennan, he’s fighting in Temecula this time around, as he’s set to take on Josh San Diego in a featherweight bout on Friday, March 31 at Bellator 293.
The highly touted undefeated prospect returns to Bellator action for the first time since last June, as his last bout fell out due to medical issues surrounding his opponent. Despite the recent inactivity, Brennan was recently included in the Bellator rankings – which came as a surprise to some, including Brennan himself.
“As cool as it is to be the youngest guy and the only undefeated guy in the rankings, I just like getting fights in,” Brennan said. “I was in no rush to be there…it’s definitely something I didn’t expect until maybe a tad longer, maybe another fight or so.”
Regardless of the rankings, Brennan is one of Bellator’s most highly touted prospects and it’ll be interesting to see the form in which he returns after a nine-month layoff.
