A middleweight match-up has been lined up to headline the UFC’s June 3, 2023 Fight Night event.
Sweden’s Jack Hermansson (23-8) will face Brendan Allen (21-5) in what will be a five-round headlining affair at the event, which does not have a location or venue officially announced.
Hermansson confirmed the booking Thursday on his Instagram story following an initial report by ESPN.
“All In” Allen has had a hot hand as of late, going 3-0 in 2022 and starting 2023 off with a win against Andre Muniz. The former LFA champ even managed to submit the dangerous Brazilian grappler, with his third rear-naked choke submission in four fights.
Allen currently sits at #12 in the promotion’s official rankings, while Hermansson holds the #10 spot.
Hermansson has been trading wins and losses since prior to the coronavirus pandemic, and has struggled to stay consistent. Most recently, he was finished on the feet by powerful Georgian Roman Dolidze.
“The Joker” holds notable wins over David Branch, Kelvin Gastelum, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Chris Curtis, among others.
The UFC’s June 3, 2023 Fight Night event currently consists of the following reported match-ups:
- Jack Hermansson vs. Brendan Allen
- Miesha Tate vs. Mayra Bueno Silva
- Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi
- Tim Elliott vs. Allan Nascimento
- Jinh Yu Frey vs. Elise Reed
