In the wake of Invicta FC 52 on Wednesday, which saw Ireland’s Danni McCormack dethrone the formidable Valesca Machado, the promotion’s next outing has been announced.
On Thursday, promotion officials revealed that Invicta FC 53 will see Jillian DeCoursey defending her atomweight title against Rayanne Amanda dos Santos. Additionally, Jessica Delboni will face UFC vet Danielle Taylor, and Nicole Geraldo debuts against Monique Adriane.
The event will take place on May 3, 2023, with the promotion once again returning to Denver, Colorado’s ReelWorks Denver.
DeCoursey (6-3) captured the promotion’s atomweight title in a stunning finish of Jessica Delboni that saw “Lionheart” knock out the Brazilian in just under a round. The fight marked the second straight win for DeCoursey, who has fought for the promotion since her professional debut in 2017.
dos Santos (13-6) made her promotional debut in January, earning a unanimous decision win over Katie Saull. The Brazilian turned up on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022, losing to Denise Gomes in a strawweight fight. Having also fought at flyweight, dos Santos made the move to 105lbs for her Invicta debut.
Strawweight Nicole Geraldo (5-0) enters Invicta FC 53 as a top prospect fighting previously in LUX Fight League. She inked a contract with Invicta late last year. Adriane (5-2) has been competing as an atomweight; no weight class has been confirmed for the fight.
