UAE Warriors will be hosting another triple header weekend later this month, and a pair of featherweight prospects will face off atop the second card of that three-pack.
Austria’s Mochamed Machaev (12-1) will face Bagdos Olzhabay (13-3) of Kazakhstan in the main event of UAE Warriors 39 on March 18, 2023.
Promotion officials confirmed the booking to Cageside Press on Tuesday. The event is set to take place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, airing live on UFC Fight Pass. It will be preceded by UAE Warriors 38: Africa on March 17; UAE Warriors 40: Arabia follows on Sunday, March 19.
Both Machaev and Olzhabay will be making their promotional debuts in the bout. Kazakh Olzhabay, 26-years old, has won his last five fights, with all five ending inside the distance, including four submissions.
Machaev, 23, has won his last two outings. He previously competed for XFN and Brave CF, among other promotions. “The Beast” had run up a 10-0 record prior to running into Gamzat Magomedov in 2021, but has bounced back nicely since then.
UAE Warriors 38: Africa, meanwhile, is expected to be headlined by Sylvester Chipfumbu. The Zimbabwean fighter will be looking to return to the win column against Morocco’s Imad Bouamri at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island on March 17, per a report by Independent Online.
