The third PFL regular season event of 2023 has seen its line-up announced.
On Monday, Professional Fighters League officials announced via press release the full card for the April 14 event, taking place at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. Among the anticipated match-ups, a lightweight fight between two former UFC standouts will see last year’s 155lb champ, Olivier Aubin-Mercier, take on Shane Burgos.
Aubin-Mercier (17-5) is undefeated under the PFL banner, having won six straight fights since exiting the UFC in 2019. After the 2020 season was lost due to COVID-19, Aubin-Mercier debuted the following year, and has beaten UFC alums Mercin Held, Darrell Horcher, and Stevie Ray, as well as former PFL champs Raush Manfio and Natan Schulte.
Burgos (15-3) will be making his promotional debut in the fight. He signed with the Professional Fighters League as a free agent last year, after the UFC allowed him to slip away off two straight wins — a situation UFC President Dana White later admitted was a mistake.
2022’s welterweight winner Sadibou Sy will also be in action, taking on Jarrah Al-Silawi, while UFC vets Stevie Ray, Don Madge. and Clay Collard also take part.
