The UFC makes it’s return to Australia on Feb. 11 when UFC 284 lands in Perth to see one of their own make history in the octagon.
Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will challenge current lightweight title holder Islam Makhachev for a chance to become the next champ-champ in the UFC.
For Volkanovski it’s a chance to make history and continue his winning streak in the UFC which currently sits at 12. Earning a second belt would also input Volkanovski into the GOAT conversation.
For Makhachev it’s an opportunity to prove that he is the dominant fighter that he gets praise for being. With Khabib Nurmagomedov as now more of a mentor than coach it is on Makhachev to prove he can do it without the man who many see as the greatest lightweight of all time.
Makhachev will look to make his own legacy and it begins against featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284 on Saturday night.
Also on the line at UFC 284 is the featherweight interim title as Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett will battle to decide who will face Volkanovski in his next featherweight title defense.
