The UFC is looking to book another women’s featherweight fight, featuring Contender Series alum Danyelle Wolf entering the octagon for the second time.
Wolf (1-1), a decorated amateur boxer prior to transitioning to MMA, is expected to face Invicta FC vet Chelsea Chandler (5-1) at the UFC’s April 29, 2023 Fight Night event.
News of the booking was first reported by MMA Island, who noted that the fight was in the works. Chandler later confirmed the match-up on social media.
An Invicta FC alum who competed for the all-women’s promotion five times prior to arriving in the UFC, Chandler has competed at both bantamweight and featherweight over the years. In her UFC debut, a catchweight of 140lbs was settled upon when Julija Stoliarenko stepped up on short notice to replace Leah Letson.
Chandler won the fight via TKO.
Wolf, now 39-years old, was a multi-time U.S. national champion in amateur boxing. Transitioning to MMA in 2020, she defeated future Invicta FC champ Taneisha Tennant on Dana White’s Contender Series that year. It would be another two years before Wolf made her promotional debut, dropping a decision against Norma Dumont last September.
Only one other bout has been reported for the UFC’s April 29, 2023 event: a lightweight fight between Natan Levy and Pete Rodriguez. No venue, location, or broadcast plan has been announced for the card.
