While no major promotions are in action this weekend, your MMA drought is at least temporarily over thanks to Legacy Fighting Alliance, with LFA 149 going down Friday night at the Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona.
Atop the card, flyweight action sees Felipe Bunes take on Japan’s Yuma Horiuchi. But as luck would have it, Horiuchi came in heavy for the fight, weighing in 1.6 pounds over the flyweight division limit. As a result, he’ll be forfeiting a portion of his purse to Bunes.
And, as the vacant LFA flyweight title is on the line in the fight, only Bunes is now eligible to win gold.
All other fighters made their contracted weight for Friday night’s card, which marks LFA’s first event of 2023.
LFA 149 takes place Friday, January 6, 2023 with the main card airing live on UFC Fight Pass starting at 10PM ET, following a short preliminary card. Full results from the event can be found below.
