Dillon Danis will not be boxing KSI later this month in London, England.
Despite being on the marquee in the main event against the Youtube Content Creator turned celebrity boxer, Danis has pulled out of the event — a little over a week out from the January 14, 2023 card.
News of Danis’ withdrawal came by way of Misfits Boxing’s Mams Taylor, who is also part of KSI’s management team. In a video posted to social media, Taylor revealed that he received a call informing him that Danis had backed out of the fight, citing weight management issues and a lack of preparedness, among other factors.
“I got a phone call saying Dillon is pulling out of the fight,” Taylor stated in the video, available below. “The real reason, from what they said to me, is that he’s underprepared, he has no coach, he might be struggling with weight. For someone who cares about his reputation as much as he does, or what people think of him, I didn’t think that this would be something, despite many people saying the opposite, that ‘Look, he’s not going to show up to the fight’ — they were right.’”

Danis notoriously no-showed a press conference in London last month, but insisted during an in-studio appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that he would make the fight.
That interview instantly became one of the most notorious (and frankly entertaining) episodes in MMA Hour history, as the pair went back-and-forth with with insults and accusations. During the interview, Helwani questioned whether the bout would actually happen, giving it +10,000 odds while saying he had his doubts whether the fight would happen.
Danis remains under contract to Bellator MMA, but has not competed for the promotion since 2019, when he submitted Max Humphrey via arm-bar in New York City.
KSI, meanwhile, already has a new opponent, in fellow Youtube creator Faze Temper.
