A pair of rising middleweights will face off at the UFC’s February 25 Fight Night card.
Brendan Allen (20-5) is set to face Andre Muniz (23-4) at the event, with both fighters coming in off impressive win streaks.
AgFight was first to report news of the following. Muniz had previously announced he would be fighting on the Feb. 25 card.
“All In” Allen is a former LFA middleweight champion who won his way into the UFC on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. Posting an 8-2 record inside the octagon since, he currently sits on a three-fight win streak and is coming off a Performance of the Night-winning effort against Krzysztof Jotko.
Brazil’s Muniz has yet to taste defeat under the UFC banner after joining the promotion in 2019 following back-to-back appearances on the Contender Series (initially on the Brazilian edition of the show). Most notably, he snapped the arm of Jacare Souza in May of 2021 at UFC 262, earning him Submission of the Year nominations and several wins from multiple media outlets.
Most recently, Muniz won an unanimous decision against Ultimate Fighter alum Uriah Hall.
Andre Muniz currently sits at the #11 spot in the promotion’s official rankings, making this a huge opportunity for Brendan Allen, who has yet to crack the top 15.
