The official UFC 283 poster has arrived, just days after the UFC made a snap decision to book a completely new light heavyweight title fight little more than a month out from Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev.

With Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev ending in a draw and leaving the UFC’s vacant light heavyweight title, well, still vacant, Dana White broke one of his cardinal rules: he played matchmaker the night of the fight. Rather than run Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev back, he chose to pair up Glover Teixeira — who was supposed to have faced Jiri Prochazka at UFC 282, prior to Prochazka dropping out and vacating the title due to injury — with Jamahal Hill.
Hill had been scheduled to face Anthony Smith in March. Instead, he now gets to fight for the title, something Smith discovered while he was on air during Saturday’s UFC 282 broadcast.
And so not surprisingly, Teixeira vs. Hill takes top billing on the UFC 283 poster, with Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 4 positioned just under it. The flyweight pair have scripted quite the rivalry to date, and incredibly remain tied in their career series after three fights, going 1-1-1. Short of another draw, however, this could be their final meeting — and it’s for all the marbles.
