Heavyweight knockout artists Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Chris Daukaus entered their UFC 282 bout off the back of knockout losses of their own to top contenders Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes, respectively, in main events.
With the fighters ranked ninth and eleventh, respectively, at heavyweight this fight could have big implications in the near future for the largest division.
Ahead of the fight, Daukaus had gone on record to say he didn’t intend to just stand and bang with the hard-hitting kickboxer Rozenstruik. In the end, he didn’t have much choice, and try as he might, “Bigi Boy” simply took the fight to him.
It was over in a flash.
In the first ten seconds an exchange ended with a jab hurting Daukaus and dropping him. After stumbling back, Daukaus worked his way to the feet while getting peppered with shots all the while; Jair additionally landed a solid knee. After Daukaus stumbled halfway across the octagon “Bigi Boy” landed a jab while literally running forward and Chris Daukaus’ body slammed down onto the canvas as the referee stopped the fight. The whole thing took all of 23 seconds, and will be a memorable highlight for the heavyweight from Suriname.
