The second card of a double-header in Manila, Philippines over the weekend, ONE 164 saw ONE Championship’s strawweight title on the line.
In the main event of Saturday’s card, which trailed ONE on Prime Video 5, Joshua Pacio looked to defend his title against former UFC standout Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks, who had not tasted defeat since 2018.
Brooks, who left the UFC off a win, had made stops in RIZIN and WXC before arriving in ONE last year, and had won his first three fights out of the gate in the promotion. He entered the Pacio fight on a five-fight win streak, looking to claim gold in a major promotion for the first time.
Pacio, a two-time strawweight champion in ONE Championship, had defended his title three times in his second stint atop the weight class. The Filipino fighter had been out of action for over a year, however, prior to Friday’s contest.
Elsewhere on the ONE 164 card, former UFC heavyweight Brandon Vera, who lost his ONE heavyweight title to Arjan Bhullar last year, returned to action against Iranian wrestler Amir Aliakbari. And in prelim action, China’s Meng Bo was up against Jenelyn Olsim.
ONE 164 takes place Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. Full results from the event can be found below. Where available, a live stream of all the action can also be viewed in the video embed above.
