A fight between ranked UFC flyweights Andrea Lee and Maycee Barber is being finalized for an upcoming event on March 25.
Though we have yet to enter winter, the UFC has finalized the first bout of next spring. First reported by MMA Fighting, a bout between number nine ranked Andrea Lee and number twelve ranked Maycee Barber is being finalized for an event on March 25.
Lee (13-6) is looking to get back in the win-column following a loss to Viviane Araujo in May. The result snapped a two fight win-streak that saw her score finishes over Antonina Shevchenko and Cynthia Calvillo in 2021. A professional since 2014, “KGB” had stints in Invicta FC and LFA, facing future UFC veterans Rachael Ostovich and Roxanne Modafferi. Lee would claim the LFA title in 2015 prior to joining the UFC in 2017.
Barber (11-2) enters the bout with a new contract after previously fighting out her previous UFC deal earlier this year. The 24 year-old became one of the first breakout stars of Dana White’s Contender Series, being signed in season one back in 2018 and going on to post a 6-2 record inside the Octagon since then. “The Future” is currently riding a three fight win-streak with victories over Miranda Maverick, Montana De La Rosa, and Jessica Eye.
No other bouts or a location have been announced for the March 25 event as of yet.
