The UFC Vegas 62 official weigh-in did not go off without a hitch, precisely, on Friday morning. But the event is official, despite one fight being lost, and one fighter missing weight.
Friday morning, UFC officials announced that due to weight management issues, Askar Askarov was out of his flyweight fight with Brandon Royval, removing the bout from the card. Royval had earlier revealed that his opponent was heavy coming in, and that the fight had been cancelled.
Though he did weigh in, C.J. Vergara was three pounds heavy for his fight with Tatsuro Taira. He forfeits 30% of his purse as a result, though the fight will move forward.
