This weekend’s UFC Vegas 62 card has undergone a slight alteration.

With Melsik Baghdasaryan suffering a broken hand, promotional newcomer Lucas Alexander (7-2) has agreed to step in and face Joanderson Brito (13-3-1) in a featherweight bout at the Fight Night event. News of the match-up was first reported by MMA Junkie, with Brito later confirming the switch on social media.

Brito, a.k.a. “Tubarao,” is coming off his first win in the promotion. That victory saw the 2021 Contender Series alum knock out UFC staple Andre Fili is just 41 seconds. Overall, the Brazilian is 1-1 inside the octagon, after losing his promotional debut against Bill Algeo.

Fellow Brazilian Lucas Alexander has won five straight fights, and is coming off a win over UFC vet Jacob Kilburn, which took place at Anthony Pettis FC 1 — the event promoted by the former UFC and WEC lightweight champ earlier this year.

UFC Vegas 62 takes place at the Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 15, 2022. The card breaks down as follows:

  • Alexa Grasso vs. Viviane Araujo
  • Cub Swanson vs. Jonathan Martinez
  • Brandon Royval vs. Askar Askarov
  • Duško Todorovic vs. Jordan Wright
  • Misha Cirkunov vs. Alonzo Menifield
