A previously reported elbow injury has seen Daniel Rodriguez’s fight with Neil Magny pushed back.
Rodriguez (17-2) was to have faced Magny (26-9) at UFC Vegas 62 on October 15, 2022. However, the welterweight revealed just a few days back that an elbow injury — specifically, a cut that had become infected — forced him out of the date.
Rather than find a replacement to face Magny, the UFC has opted to move the fight to November 5. Promotion officials announced the news on Friday.
Rodriguez competed just last month at UFC 279, picking up a win against Li Jingliang at a 180lb catchweight, in a bout that was cobbled together at the last minute. “D-Rod” has won four straight, including victories over Mike Perry and Kevin Lee, in addition to Jingliang.
Magny will look to bounce back from a recent loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov in the bout.
The UFC’s November 5, 2022 Fight Night event will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the UFC Apex. The following match-ups are expected to be part of the card:
