Weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 61 took place Friday morning in Las Vegas, with all fighters who hit the scale making weight.
That is not to say that the morning went off without a hitch. Shortly before the official weigh-in commenced, UFC play-by-play man and weigh-in host Jon Anik announced that one fight had been cancelled. As a result of Jessica Penne falling ill, her women’s strawweight fight against Tabatha Ricci had been removed from the card.
No specifics as to the nature of the illness, and whether the promotion would attempt to re-book the match-up, were provided. However, the rest of Saturday’s Fight Night card made weight without issue.
