The heavyweight tilt between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Chris Daukas has been pushed back a couple of months.
Originally scheduled for the UFC’s October 1, 2022 Fight Night event, the fight has shifted to UFC 282 on December 10.
MMA Junkie was first to report news of the change.
Rozenstruik and Daukaus are ranked inside of the top 15 in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Daukaus sits at #11 as of this writing, Rozenstruik #9.
Both fighters will be looking to get back in the win column come December. Jairzinho Rozenstruik (12-4) has lost two straight and three of his last four. Back-to-back losses to Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov have him in need of a victory; “Bigi Boy” notched his only win in that stretch against Augusto Sakai in June of 2021.
Daukaus (12-5) has likewise lost two straight, to common opponent Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. Those setbacks halted a five-fight win streak for the Philadelphia-born heavyweight.
UFC 282 is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 10, 2022. Although no main event has been announced, the following bouts have been reported for the card thus far:
- Robbie Lawler vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio
- Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Dalcha Lungiambula
- Billy Quarantillo vs. Alexander Hernandez
- T.J. Brown vs. Erik Silva
- Dricus du Plessis vs. Darren Till
- Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Chris Daukaus
