Carlos Mota got another crack at Legacy Fighting Alliance gold in the main event of LFA 140 on Friday night.
Brazil’s Mota had come up short in his first shot at the LFA flyweight championship earlier this year, falling to Charles Johnson in one of the better 125lb fights of 2022 thus far. After picking up a win outside the promotion back in May, Mota was back in the LFA cage Friday night, looking to secure the title vacated when Johnson jumped to the UFC.
His opponent on Friday, Rizvan Abuev, entered the bout on a three-fight win streak, though he was making his LFA debut after competing in his native Russia in promotions like Fight Nights Global.
Coming in heavy for his co-main event featherweight fight was Mairon Santos, who took on Dwight Joseph in what had become a catchweight affair.
LFA 140 takes place at the 4 Bears Casino & Lodge in New Town, North Dakota on Friday, August 26, 2022. Full results from the event, whose main card airs on UFC Fight Pass, can be found below.
