Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards are set to top UFC 278 this Saturday, facing off for the second time, seven years on from their first encounter.
The welterweight pair had first met in 2015, with Usman getting his hand raised following a three round decision. Neither man had lost a fight since, with Edwards long deserving of a shot at now-champ Usman. “The Nigerian Nightmare,” meanwhile, was looking to establish his place among the greats, with only Georges St-Pierre ahead of him in the weight class.
On Thursday, the key players from UFC 278 assembled in Salt Lake City, Utah for a pre-fight press conference. In addition to the welterweight title fight headlining the event, former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold returned at the event, paired up with former title challenger Paulo Costa.
