A light heavyweight banger has been booked for the UFC’s October 29, 2022 Fight Night card.
Dustin Jacoby (18-5-1) will face Khalil Rountree Jr. (10-5, 1NC) in a hard-hitting affair at the event. Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Jacoby, announced the news on Wednesday.
Jacoby is currently on his second stint with the promotion, and has yet to taste defeat since returning via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020. With a 6-0-1 record since his return, Jacoby has won four straight, and is coming off a Performance of the Night knockout of Da Un Jung last month.
Rountree has won two straight, and like Jacoby put on a Performance of the Night-winning show in his last outing. That came care of a TKO finish of Karl Roberson, with the stoppage set up with a body kick.
California-born Rountree, fighting out of Thailand at Tiger Muay Thai, joined the UFC in 2016 after making it to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 23. He came up short against Andrew Sanchez at the finale, but has ultimately outlasted “El Dirte” in the promotion.
The UFC’s October 29, 2022 event does not have an official broadcast plan, location, or venue announced. The following fights have been reported for the date:
- Edson Barboza vs. Ilia Topuria
- Andrei Arlovski vs. Marcos Rogério de Lima
