While the days were ticking away until ONE Championship’s debut on Amazon Prime Video, the promotion was in action Friday with ONE 159, live from Singapore, in the usual timeslot.
Atop the event, a middleweight title fight between undefeated double champion (middleweight and light heavyweight) Reinier De Ridder, and former champ Vitaly Bigdash.
The Netherlands’ De Ridder, a.k.a. “The Dutch Knight,” had put together a 15-0 record, and infamously defeated Aung La N Sang in two consecutive fights to claim both of the titles previously held by “The Burmese Python.” Bigdash, who had his own history with Aung La, had also defeated him to earn a crack at the belt he once held.
In the co-main event, an interim Muay Thai atomweight title fight was on deck, featuring Janet Todd against Lara Fernandez.
