ONE 159 went down on Friday, and double champ Reinier De Ridder once again came away with another impressive submission win.
“The Dutch Knight” had been paired up with former middleweight champ Vitaly Bigdash, with the Russian looking to reclaim his old title. That didn’t work out, as Bigdash fell to a De Ridder triangle — an inverted triangle choke, to be exact — inside of a round.
With the victory, De Ridder improves to 16-0 as a professional, and as the title defenses pile up, he’s started to write his legacy.
Also on Friday’s card in Singapore, Janet Todd captured an interim atomweight Muay Thai title, earning a unanimous decision against Lara Fernandez to claim gold.
