An impressively deep Bellator 282 card saw fighters hit the scale Thursday morning for the event’s official weigh-in.
Topping the promotion’s only event in June, middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi was looking to make his second title defense of the year, against American Top Team fighter Johnny Eblen. With nearly 60 fights in a career spanning two decades, Mousasi had a vast experience advantage despite being just six years older than the challenger.
The bantamweight grand prix was also set to continue this week, as two quarterfinal bouts featured on the Bellator 282 card. In one, noted trash talker and mental warfare aficionado Danny Sabatello was up against Leandro Higo, while in the other, The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America winner Enrique Barzola looked to advance against dangerous Russian Magomed Magomedov.
The return of Brennan Ward, the debut of Aaron Jeffery, and a key women’s featherweight fight between Cat Zingano and former Invicta champ Pam Sorenson were also lined up for Friday’s event.
Weigh-ins for Bellator 282 go down Thursday morning; full results can be found below.
