The Ultimate Fighter 28 alumni Leah Letson will return to the bantamweight division for her next appearance inside the octagon.
Letson (5-2) will enter the octagon for the first time in 2022 on October 1, when she takes on promotional newcomer Chelsea Chandler. Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Letson, announced the news on social media on Wednesday.
Chandler confirmed the booking on her Instagram Story a short time later.
Wisconsin native Letson, 29, was last seen in a featherweight fight against Felicia Spencer in November 2021. Suffering a TKO loss in the third round, Letson’s UFC record dropped to 1-1.
She entered the promotion in 2018 as part of TUF 28, winning her first fight, against Bea Malecki, before being eliminated by eventual women’s featherweight winner Macy Chiasson. Awarded a fight on the TUF 28 finale, she defeated Julija Stoliarenko, then had to contend with a multi-year absence.
Letson has not competed as a bantamweight since a 2016 win under the Premier FC banner.
Chelsea Chandler will enter the UFC on the strength of a four-fight win streak. She’s spent the entirety of her professional fighting career under the Invicta FC banner, and has not lost since her debut in 2018. Most recently, Chandler picked up a unanimous decision win over Courtney King at Invicta FC 47 last month.
Chandler has a 50% finish rate across her four wins.
The UFC’s October 1, 2022 event has not been officially announced by the promotion. No other fights have been reported for the card.
