UFC Vegas 55: Uros Medic Describes Mindset Change After First Loss, Asks For Howler Head

Las Vegas, NV – Following the first loss of his career UFC middleweight Uros Medic got back into the winner’s circle with a TKO finish of Omar Morales at UFC Vegas 55 on Saturday night.

“A lot of emotions right now. As I said in some of the previous interviews, lots of ups and downs in this game, just trying to stay grounded when you have the bad time and trying to stay grounded when you have the good time. Take it one day at a time, one victory one loss at a time, and just enjoy the moment. That’s all we got,” Medic told reporters in his post-fight media scrum.

“All we got is right now.”

Medic (8-1) had only known winning up until he entered the UFC and enjoyed some early success in the promotion, but his first loss changed the way he thought about his career.

“When things are good, stay grounded. When things are bad, stay grounded. We keep grinding, we keep going, we keep going forward and I’m going to go back to the gym next week and let’s go get another fight. This is the prime time. These are the years,” Medic said.

“I’m never getting back this time. I’m never getting back the time that I missed out on spending with my family in Serbia. I’m here right now. I’m going to make the best of it. I’m in love with the sport. I’m in love with this company.”

Medic pulled off a finish of Morales in the second round of their prelim bout on Saturday night. That kept together Medic’s 100% finishing rate.

“Not important at all. I don’t care about it, I don’t think about it, but it’s my style it’s how I fight. I’m not going to depend on that. It’s just a part of the hard training that we do. It comes with big shots, big finishes,” Medic said.

Medic was ready to celebrate the win, but he had a specific request.

“I wanted to say this, and I totally forgot in the post-fight interview. It’s been almost two years that I’ve been in the UFC and I’ve haven’t had a chance to try the Howler Head. I really want to. I was hoping Dana would send a bottle to our room so we can celebrate the victory. I don’t know where he’s at and if he can see this and if somebody can arrange that, we’d love to try that Howler Head,” Medic laughed.

Medic got his bottle of Howler Head at the end of his post-fight scrum.
