Aaron Jeffery finally has a date for his Bellator debut.
Multiple sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed to Cageside Press that Aaron Jeffery and Fabio Aguiar will face off at Bellator 282 on June 24 at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Jeffery (11-3) has been grinding away on the regional scene and will finally make his debut in a major organization. After losing to Caio Borralho on season five of Dana White’s Contender Series, Jeffery went back to CFFC to defend his middleweight title, which he won at CFFC 93 against Collin Huckbody. In January, he defeated Rex Harris via unanimous decision, and the following month it was announced he was signed with Bellator.
After losing his Bellator debut to Khalid Murtazaliev at Bellator 255, Aguiar (18-2) picked up his first Bellator win by defeating Taylor Johnson at Bellator 265 last August. The Brazilian has been fighting professionally since 2012, and prior to signing with Bellator, he had only lost once, to current UFC fighter Bruno Silva.
Bellator 282 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between Gegard Mousasi and Johnny Eblen, and will go down at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The rest of the card looks like this:
- Gegard Mousasi vs. Johnny Eblen
- Magomed Magomedov vs. Enrique Barzola
- Leandro Higo vs. Danny Sabatello
- Alejandra Lara vs. Ilara Joanne
- Aaron Jeffery and Fabio Aguiar
