Fighters coming off a loss and in need of a win tend to be hungry, motivated and looking to right the ship in devastating fashion. UFC bantamweights Aori Qileng and Cameron Else continued the action at UFC Vegas 52 on Saturday night, looking to do just that.
Aori was riding a two-fight losing streak dropping decisions to Jeff Molina and Cody Durden respectively, while Else was coming off a TKO loss to Kyler Phillips in October 2020. Qileng was actually making his 135 pound debut in the UFC in the bout.
One man would find themselves back in the winner’s circle and the other would face the possibility of having to continue their fighting career elsewhere.
Qileng looked to impose his wrestling in the opening minute of the fight, after some feeling out. He pinned Else up against the fence, but Else escaped, only to have to endure a nasty combination from the Mongolian. Else would fire back, but moments later, Aori Qileng dug the body with the left hand, and had his opponent hurt. Else went down, covering up, as Qileng landed ground and pound. Else went to his back, and Qileng continued to wail away. In all honesty, Else was given more time than was likely necessary, as he did little more than cover up and eat shots, ever so slightly moving his body. Eventually the ref waved it off.
After two straight losses at flyweight, a move to bantamweight paid off for Aori Qileng. Dropping Else with a body shot should also leave an impression. After the fight, he proclaimed that bantamweight was his division.
It certainly was on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Official Result: Aori Qileng def. Cameron Else by TKO, Round 1, 2:48
