Lightweight Contender Series vet Jordan Leavitt, sporting a 2-1 record inside the octagon ahead of UFC Vegas 51 on Saturday, welcomed promotional newcomer Trey Ogden at the event.
Ogden had built up a solid record on the regional scene, making the 32-year-old’s debut against Leavitt a very even match-up on paper.
That’s how it played out in reality as well. Both men opened up feeling out each other, trading kicks back and forth. Leavitt was a lot busier with his kicks but nothing significant was landing from either guy. Ogden did throw a kick but fell to his back and Leavitt jumped on top. Leavitt was content on riding out in the guard of Ogden to end the round. Ogden posted up and locked in a guillotine and it was tight. He rolled Leavitt to his back and Ogden but somehow Leavitt escaped.
