While it took a while to get to the UFC, Curtis (28-8) has made up for lost time in his two UFC fights. He knocked out Phil Hawes in the first round as an underdog in his UFC debut. “The Action Man” would return to action a month later and knock out Brendan Allen as a bigger underdog. Curtis is on a seven-fight win streak, with six of those being finishes.
Vieira (8-1) got back into the win column after getting submitted in one of the biggest upsets of 2021. Last July, he submitted Dustin Stoltzfus at UFC on ESPN: Makhachev vs. Moisés. The Brazilian was scheduled to return to action at UFC 270 against Wellington Turman; however, he was forced to withdraw due to medical issues.
Last week, he revealed on his Instagram that he was cleared to resume his career after undergoing a cerebral angiography.
The UFC’s June 25, 2022 event does not yet have an official location, venue, or broadcast plan announced. The card currently looks like this:
- Jinh Yu Frey vs. Vanessa Demopoulos
- Tim Elliott vs. Amir Albazi
- Josh Parisian vs. Alan Baudot
- Chris Curtis vs. Rodolfo Vieira
