Just a day after it was reported that Elizu Zaleski dos Santos was out of the fight, Mounir Lazzez has a new opponent for this weekend’s UFC Vegas 51.
Ange Loosa (8-2) will be the man stepping in to face Lazzez (10-2) in the welterweight match-up. Loosa, a.k.a. “The Last Ninja,” confirmed he’d be fighting at the event on April 16, following an initial report by The Wrestling Observer.
UFC fans may be familiar with Loosa, as he appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series last season. Although he came up short on the show, losing to hot prospect Jack Della Maddalena, he bounced back earlier this month with a win over UFC veteran John “Doomsday” Howard at XMMA 4.
Lazzez is looking to get back in the win column at this weekend’s card, numerically UFC on ESPN 34. He’s coming off a loss to Warlley Alves.
