UFC 273 is just days away, with two title fights and some other hot match-ups topping the card.
In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski will face off against perennial contender The Korean Zombie. Originally expected to feature in a third fight with Max Holloway, an injury to “Blessed” altered plans, but TKZ being a fan favorite, the bout is no less compelling.
At bantamweight, a title unification bout found Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan looking to settle the score once and for all. Sterling had become the first fighter in UFC history to claim a title via DQ in March of 2021; since then, Yan had bounced back in a bout with Cory Sandhagen to claim interim gold. For those who felt that Sterling’s title win was less than deserved, UFC 273 was a chance to run it back and do it right.
Perhaps the most compelling fight on the card, however, found Khamzat Chimaev paired up with Gilbert Burns, in what has to be considered the biggest test in the career of “Borz” thus far.
