While no Fight of the Night bonus was awarded at UFC Vegas 48, four fighters walked away with an extra $50,000.
Among four Performance of the Night bonus recipients was Jamahal Hill, who made it look easy in the main event. Originally scheduled to face Johnny Walker in the evening’s co-feature, the shift of Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rafael Fiziev to UFC 272 saw Walker vs. Hill promoted. A little bit more of the spotlight on the fight was exactly what Hill needed, as he made a massive statement knocking out Walker in a little under three minutes.
The win gives Hill a comfortable two-fight win streak in a division low on contenders and badly in need of fresh blood — which the Contender Series alum very much is.
Also taking home a Performance of the Night bonus at UFC Vegas 48 is Stephanie Egger. The Swiss Judoka showed off her throws and trips, and her judo made all the difference against Jessica-Rose Clark, who saw her own two-fight win streak snapped when she was forced to tap to an Egger arm-bar.
The other two Performance bonuses went to David Onama, for his knockout of the overweight Gabriel Benitez, and Kyle Daukaus, who got the job done with a D’Arce choke submission of Jamie Pickett in the UFC Vegas 48 co-main event.
