With Rafael Fiziev unable to obtain his Visa in time to headline UFC Vegas 48, Jamahal Hill and Johnny Walker got a huge opportunity to top the event in a pivotal light heavyweight match-up.
Hill was looking to build off a win over Jimmy Crute last year, and put his loss to Paul Craig further in the rear view mirror. He did just that at UFC Vegas 48, taking less than a round to secure a highlight reel finish of Brazil’s Walker.
The main event started with both fighters trying to find their range. Walker and Hill were both throwing leg kicks as well. About a minute in, and these guys were throwing with bad intentions before the clinch. Jamahal Hill then threw a giant right hand that landed on the temple of Walker, and he went stiff before falling down. Hill landed one additional blow before the ref pulled him off, making the save. The win was almost certainly the biggest of Jamahal Hill’s career to date, and should put the rest of the light heavyweight division on notice.

Just how good is Jamahal Hill? Expect to see him get another jump in competition by this summer, which should give us the answer.
Official Result: Jamahal Hill def. Johnny Walker by KO, Round 1, 2:55
