ONE Championship’s Bad Blood lost its main event this week, with John Lineker forced out of a bantamwieght title fight against Bibiano Fernandes due to a COVID-19 positive.
Thanks to that last minute bump in the road, Fernandes was removed from the card entirely, with the fight likely rescheduled for the coming months. Instead, a heavyweight title fight of the interim variety was given headlining status — one that saw Anatoly Malykhin and Kirill Grishenko vying for gold, with champ Arjan Bhullar’s contract situation resolved just a few days ago.
Bhullar is expected to face the winner of Malykhin vs. Grishenko later this year.
Also on Friday’s Bad Blood card, Mei Yamaguchi returned against Jinhin Radzuan, and heavyweight prospect Hugo Cunha was paired up with Canada’s Dustin Joynson.
