After their first booking fell through last month, a women’s flyweight match-up between Maycee Barber and Montana De La Rosa is back on for the UFC’s April 23 Fight Night event.
Barber (9-2) and De La Rosa (12-6-1) were expected to face off at UFC 269 on December 11, 2021. However, first De La Rosa, then Barber herself, dropped out of the bout.
MMA Junkie was first to report the fight’s new date on Saturday. Cageside Press subsequently confirmed the booking.
Barber fought twice in 2021, splitting a pair of fights during the year. She dropped a unanimous decision to Alexa Grasso in February, then rebounded with a split decision win over Miranda Maverick in July. Overall, Barber is 4-2 inside the octagon since “The Future” joined the UFC by way of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018.
De La Rosa is also coming off a single win, which she picked up against Ariane Lipski last June. The 26-year old won the fight via second-round TKO.
The UFC’s April 23, 2022 Fight Night event does not yet have an official venue, location, or broadcast plan announced. The following bouts have been reported for the card:
- Qileng Aori vs. Cameron Else
- Louis Cosce vs. Preston Parsons
