UFC 270 arrives this Saturday, and when it does, heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou will have a decent weight advantage over interim champ Ciryl Gane.
The official weigh-ins for the event took place Friday morning in Anaheim, with Ngannou hitting the scales last. While Ciryl Gane came it at 247 pounds for the pair’s heavyweight title fight, Ngannou was a full 10 pounds heavier at 257.
Much has been made of the match-up being one of power versus technique. And though Gane himself said earlier this week that he disagreed, Ngannou certainly has the weight to put behind his punches.
Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo, at the other end of the spectrum in a flyweight title fight, hit the scales first — both weighing in under championship weight at 124lbs.
